to provide mental health services for Blue River students. These services include: assessment, treatment planning and therapeutic counseling sessions.
Additionally, students may be eligible for other off-campus services including: community support/case management, psychiatric, medication clinic and treatment for addictions.
The only caveat is
they must live in Jackson County, Missouri. Free services are available for students that meet specific income guidelines.
Michelle Rubenstein, the CMHS on-campus therapist, will be located in CC155 until the completion of the Student Development Center. Michelle will be on campus one afternoon each week and students have several options for scheduling appointments to see her.

Students will receive a phone call, or an e-mail response, whichever they choose. The call will be a brief telephone assessment to determine urgency and schedule the appointment.

Blue River’s Lead Counselor, Barbara Schaefer says campus counselors are still available to assist students experiencing crisis and that “CMH is an extension of our services” .
Comprehensive Mental Health Services, Inc. (CMHS) is certified by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and the Missouri Department of Mental Health. CMHS provides services, without regard to religion, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, or disability.
