Chancellor Mark James has been appointed by the chairman of the board of the Mid-America Regional Council (MARC), Tony Cooley, to serve as an at large member of the Regional Homeland Security Coordinating Committee (RHSCC).
The RHSCC is a multi-disciplinary policy committee formed by MARC to oversee the region’s work in homeland security. MARC is the association of city and county governments and metropolitan planning organization serving the nine-county Kansas City metropolitan area.
The RHSCC oversees the investment of federal homeland security funds for the region, which supports community outreach, regional planning and protocol development, technology and communication system operation, equipment and technology system purchases, and a regional training and exercise program.
