Save money with your cycle this summer - enroll in Motorcycle Safety Classes at MCC-Maple Woods

Gas prices are creeping higher as the summer comes to an end - now may be a great time to hop on a motorcycle. MCC-Maple Woods is still registering riders for basic rider safety courses to be held on campus each weekend until mid-October (not including Labor Day weekend). The courses will be held from 6 p.m. Friday evening until 5 p.m. Sunday evening and are $215 per person. Interested riders can register by calling (816) 604-3011 or online at http://www.mcckc.edu/maplewoods/comed/cycle/. These courses are fee waiver-eligible for MCC employees.

The basic rider courses will teach participants about riding techniques, safety procedures, and proper equipment. Most of the class time will be spent on the riding range with trained Motorocycle Safety Foundation rider coaches and aides, with some time spent in the classroom. After successful completion of the course, riders may skip the driving portion of the licensing test at the Missouri DMV (participants planning to receive a Kansas license may NOT use course completion in place of their driving test).
