A task force has been created to recommend policies and procedures concerning issues of intellectual property. Co-chaired by Elizabeth Lindquist, dean of instruction at MCC-Longview and Mary Northrup, reference librarian at MCC-Maple Woods, the Intellectual Property Task Force met on Sept. 14. Members are made up of faculty, administrators, and staff, representing all campuses and the administrative center.
The charge to the task force includes defining key terms; identifying types of intellectual property; researching ownership and compensation, copyright, work for hire, and grants; and recommending revisions to PRPs in these areas.
After meeting throughout the fall semester, the task force will complete work by the end of the year.
