The student body president, new student orientation leader and student ambassador was awarded the Missouri Community College Association's prestigious Student Leadership award at its conference last week.
The award is given only to those students who act as true leaders on their campus and work tirelessly to make a difference at their college.
"I was really excited and did not quite realize what it meant until we drove out to St. Louis for the conference," Skinner said.
Skinner, along with all his extra-curricular activities, is working toward his associates and then plans to transfer to Northwest Missouri State University.
