Sure, students can sometimes complain that going to class is like running a marathon, but what if your class WAS ACTUALLY running a marathon?
Well, MCC-Longview’s John O’Connell and Jim McGraw, both running enthusiasts, will be teaching runners how to run for distance in a semester-long class beginning this coming Spring. The class will take runners from varying experience levels and give them the training they need to run their own marathon.
Not only will the class be fun, but you can also earn college credit, too.
O’Connell, who works with the Longview Recreation Center will be focusing on the physical aspect of training and conditioning for the long run.
McGraw, a counselor at Longview, will work with participants to make sure they are focused mentally to take on such a run and will keep them motivated throughout the process.
Both agree, with a combined effort they can get just about any one ready for a marathon of their own.
To sign up, check the MCC-Longview online schedule or contact McGraw or O’Connell for more information.
