MCC-Longview's Recreation Center is once again ready to break a sweat and get physical to for charity.
Partnering with Harvesters, staff at the Longview Recreation Center are asking for donations that will benefit the community food network.
With each new donation participants are then invited to participate in an hour-long cardio workout the day after Thanksgiving to teach them good workout skills to stay healthy this holiday season. A single donation through their website, which goes live on Nov 15, gives you free admission to the workout event, which is part of a nationwide charity drive by Harvesters.
Last year, staff at the recreation center led an hour-long cardio workout where they raised more than $200 for the American Heart Association. This year, they are hoping to make the event a little bit bigger. Organizers hope to raise enough donations to feed more than 1,000 families.
