Join artist Martha MacLeish from 5-8 p.m. tonight at the MCC-Longview Cultural Arts Center, for an opening night reception and inside look into her nationally acclaimed artwork.
MacLeish will also be speaking about her exhibit and answering questions starting a 6 p.m. in the Studio Theater in the Cultural Arts Center.
MacLeish’s exhibit, entitled Recent Work, is on display at the MCC-Longview Cultural Arts Center until Oct. 2. The exhibit offers a glimpse into MacLeish’s ability to create art that seamlessly floats between two and three dimensions.
MacLeish is head of the Fundamentals Studio at the Henry Radford Hope School of Fine Arts at Indiana University in Bloomington.
MacLeish has had solo exhibits in New York, Chicago and throughout the country. Recently, MacLeish has been an artist in residence at the Ragdale Foundation in Lake Park, IL, the Hambidge Center for Creative Arts and Sciences in Rabun Gap, GA and at the Toos Neger Foundation in Dordrecht, The Netherlands.
You can also visit the Cultural Art Center Wednesday through Saturday, from 12-4 p.m.
