If travelling between buildings on the MCC-Blue River campus, you may have seen a strange sight recently.
MCC-Blue River art students created a number of small installation projects. The students are enrolled in Erin Dahl’s Art 142-introduction to fiber class. The goal of the project was for the art students to gain a better understanding about installation art, and for faculty, staff and other Blue River students to simply enjoy their works of art.
The art project was also designed to enhance the natural beauty of the Blue River campus. In addition, students designed the projects to cultivate a meaningful dialogue between their work and the natural campus setting.
The works of art are located between the campus center and the Arts & Sciences building. The small cluster of tables and trees between the two buildings is well-lit and well-trafficked and offers an ideal setting for students to install their work.
The student works will be removed on Tuesday, Sept. 7 after the class holds a critique of the art pieces. So if you haven’t had a chance to check out the art, you might want to do so soon.
